The most common way of copying files from the management server securely is scp. Therefore you can create an scpuser and assign it the scponly shell. The correct method to do this is described here. Scp works in both directions: copying to and from the management server, as you wish. If you just want to transfer from the management server itself you don't need to create an scpuser account on it, just use the scp command.

Hi All,

I cannot find answer to a question of hot to send a file out from Management Server. First things in mind would be:

- email it as attachment, but don't know if this is available in GAIA R80.x

- SCP to external server - this seems to be most promising.

- FTP to external server - this is least preferred for obvious reasons.

I deliberately didn't mention downloading the file from Mgmt Server itself as insecure - although there is a sure way of doing it? Please let me know.

Are there other/better ways of getting data (text tile in this case) from the server?
