what is the impact to the device if the faulty CMOS battery still be used without replacing the checkpoint ?

Thr CMOS Battery buffers date and time while the appliance is switched off - with defective battery, unit may have no valid time and date after reboot and that hurts very much...

Specifically, there's a potential race condition where if the clock resets to a default date, and certain processes come up before the date is corrected, it can cause certificates (or even a whole certificate authority) to be declared invalid and discarded. This mostly matters for the management server, which could be on the same box, or could be separate. If it happens, it can also lead to an invalid certificate authority which would require major manual intervention to fix.
