I know that you can use Smartview by going to https://<Mgmt IP>/smartview To use all of the features of Smartview do I need a SmartEvent license?? If not what features are not available in SmartView that are in SmartEvent

See Logging and Monitoring R80.40 Administration Guide for the answer, that is Yes: The SmartView Web Application is one of the SmartEvent clients that you can use to analyze events that occur in your environment. Use the SmartView Web Application to see an overview of the security information for your environment. It has the same event monitoring and analysis views as SmartConsole. The convenience is that you do not have to install a client.

G_W I know what SmartVeiw Web is and what it does but m

y question is around licensing. Do I need a SmartEvent license to use SmartView Web on my management server? The Admin guide doesn't answer that question or I am just not finding the answer

A SmartEvent license is required to use SmartView in order to view SmartEvent Reports .

SmartEvent is the engine and the license name.

SmartView is the web application that can be consumed inside SmartConsole or/and as a web app in the browser.

Hm...I dont think you need a license for smartview. I had been using it via cloud mgmt instance and no additional license needed.

For viewing logs? No.
For reporting, a SmartEvent license is required.
