&lt;P&gt;You can set the path yourself, usually, /var/log/ is used. Roughly, 2 times the current MDS used space is needed, as collected files are encrypted as the final step.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <title>MDS Database Export Fails from R80.30 to R81.10</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Hi Team,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;We are planned to upgrade the MDS server from R80.30 to R81.10 version.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;When we run pre-upgrade verifier it says pre-upgrade verifier ended successfully.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;But we see below information:&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;/bin/cp: cannot stat '/mds_pre_upgrade.html': No such file or directory&lt;BR /&gt;/bin/cp: cannot stat '/mds_pre_upgrade.xls': No such file or directory&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;What could be the reason for the above error ?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Then we tried running export database without running pre-upgrade verifier.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;We are getting an error 'Lack of space during exporting database'&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;This means in which partition there is lack of space ?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;We have 40% free space in root partition and 20% free space in /var/log partition.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Do we need more space in above partitions ?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;We have file 'mds_backup_logs.tar' with 32GB, can we delete this file&amp;nbsp; from the path /home/admin ?&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Hello Abrecht,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Thanks for quick response.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I have given the target path as /var/log/ and we have 30% free space in this partition.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;You have mentioned that usually 2 times the current MDS used space, are you talking about the root space used ?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Do a df -h and look at the values, not the percentages.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;When you include log files (not recommended on a MDS) you will need much more than you currently have available. then you should calculate with at least 70% free space. When you do a madsbakup, multiply the outputfile size by 4 to get the approximate value of needed free space.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

&lt;P&gt;Where did you see the errors you have mentioned (in which log/report/ GUI):&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Also, when running export without pre upgrade&amp;nbsp;verifier, which command was used?&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
