Dear Community,

I am new to the Checkpoint world. I am trying to understand how licensing works on Checkpoint. For example, which are the licenses needed for 2 5100 in Active/Passive configuration with NGTX subscription for one 1 year?

If someone can help, that will be great.

For example: I do not understand the difference between:

5100 Next Generation Threat Prevention & SandBlast (NGTX) Appliance with SSD
5100 Next Generation Threat Prevention & SandBlast (NGTX) Appliance for High Availability with SSD

The first package is more expensive than the second one. Is the appliance included?

If someone can explain with a pdf or with licensing name, will be great. I do not want to contact sales as I am comparing multiple vendors.

When you buy a Check Point Appliance, it comes with the necessary license.
Note that some of the features (anything other than basic firewall and VPN functionality) requires a subscription after the first year.
The "for HA" appliance version is meant to be deployed as the secondary member of a cluster only.
It cannot be deployed as a primary cluster member or as a standalone.
As such, it is offered at a discount.

you can use second option if you will deploy Firewall, VPN and device in Cluster.
