License for Open Server

Hi All

quick question on licensing,

We have just purchased a gateway hardware appliance with a 3 years license, however, due to a design change, we are now looking to install a gateway based on the open-server VMware ESXi where we just used the R81.20 ISO image and perform the install.

two questions,

1. Can we use the license that was purchased as part of the hardware on the VMware (Open Server), however, this license is attached to the Hardware appliance's MAC?

2. can you point me to access the licensing quote tool where I can get the SKU needed for the open server?

I believe the CPSG-VSEC-AZURE-BUN-NGTP-1Y (for Check Point vSEC on Azure). can not be used on open server virtual appliances!!!

and need these CPSB-NGTX-8-3Y OR CPSB-NGTP-8-3Y OR CPSB-NGFW-8-3Y (8 cores 3 Years) ??

Personally, any time I ever had doubts about this, I called Account services and they helped me right away. They can 100% sort all this out for you.

If your company is a Check Point partner, you should be able to get a quote from the standard tools. Otherwise, reach out to your local Check Point representative for any assistance.

As @the_rock stated please contact Account Services.

They will help you obtain the relevant license and may also assist with exchanging your current license for a new one.

I have looked that but that doesn't cover the info required in my case, however, the exchanging the license would help.

I would ask Account services, they may have something updated. I recall once they sent me some pdf file related to license instructions.

1. Licenses for a check point appliances are bound to that hardware and cannot be reused in this manner.

2. Virtual licenses tends to be transferable however the correct SKUs would otherwise be:

8 x CPSG-VSEC-VEN-BUN-NGTP-3Y
