Here is the thing my friend...so for us, since we support all major vendors and we love to do lab testing before we tell customers to do anything major (plus, needless to say, its the RIGHT thing to do anyway), our dedicated eve-ng server runs on 256 GB of ram. Now, for you, if you will ONLY do Check Point, I would say 32 or 64 should be good enough.

Now, having said that, what matters is first part, 2nd not so much, so ie, does not matter if you call the image cpsg-R9999.99 (as long as its R81.20 for example), but it will NOT work if it reads cpsh-R81.20

Makes sense?

chag Sameach / Merry Christmas,

Just a question regarding the Checkpoint lab, i find the EVE-NG is very cumbersome and resource heavy.

i am building the lab with GNS3 .

question: is it better to run the lab on EVE-NG (CE) or GNS3 or just straight on Workstation pro 17?

Chag Sameach, I know thats merry Christmas in Hebru, did not even have to gooogle ot AI it lol

I would say eve ng is not too much resource intensive, but gns3 is fine too. Personally, i love eveng, cause u can literally spin up any vm in 5 mins.

Thanks Andy!

BTW - are you using EVE-NG pro or the community edition?

GNS3 - allows you to run VMs directly from Workstation without the added latency of nested vm inside EVE-NG, at least that is what i am assuming and therefore prefer GNS3, correct me if i am wrong.

fun fact: Chag Sameach (חג סמח) means Happy Holidays.

Merry Christmas:)

I hear lots of people use gns3, but personally, I prefer eveng. Now, you can use community edition, but it is limited.

Might also look at VirtualBox if you're looking for a Hypervisor that runs on Windows.

Having said that, it's better to use dedicated hardware for this, IMO.
I know several Check Point SEs are doing this with Promox, as do I.

Hello Andy, how are you? Hope you're doing well!

I'm using eve-ng as well but the free version and added cpsg R81.10. Attached images.

The thing is, when I tried to vnc/telnet to the device is taking me directly to the login page not GAIA OS. Could you help me with that?

Thank you,
Luiz Polli

---

----
