Receive SN from embedded appliance

Hey,

On most appliances it's possible to get the serial number from either "cpstat os" or the command "dmidecode -s system-serial-number", however, neither of them work on embedded appliances.

Cpstat os shows a "-" and dmidecode doesn't exist on the system.

Is there a way to get the serial number directly from the appliance, instead of looking at the sticker or looking at the user center? I am trying to avoid these 2 due to automation of work.

I don't believe you can do this on the SMB devices.

However, I believe the more relevant detail is the device MAC address.

You should be able to find the device MAC address (which is how it is licensed) in UserCenter.

I noticed it accidentally today in Check Point 1400 Appliance - FAQ in Danny Jung comment

Simply run: show diag
Note the shown HW MAC Address and open the Product Information window of that 1400 appliance within Check Point UserCenter.
Below the MAC Adress you'll see the SN serial number.

show diag shows the Hardware MAC address.

Which you can use in UserCenter to see the device serial number.

It doesn't show it directly.
