Hello,

we enabled Dynamic Balancing on a CheckPoint 23900 with R80.40.

We are monitoring the CPU allocation via CPview - CPU and noticed in the Overview something called CPU type BOTH:

Does somebody know, what does this mean? Is the CPU handling SND and FW at the same time?

Hi,

Yes, BOTH means both CoreXL_FW and CoreXL_SND are working on this core.

Usually, this is only a temporary expected state happens due to role transition between FW and SND.

You may as well, see OTHER, which means neither CoreXL_FW nor CoreXL_SND are working on this core.

If this isn't a temporary state, please share 'fw ctl affinity -l -r' and 'mq_mng -o' so we can better understand the picture.
