The latest GA take for R80.40 is Take 139, not take 125.

This is a kind reminder for our lovely vendor, that R81 is still leaking memory here and there and a JHF is desperately needed to fix those. 😉

I think it's a bit strange that R81 is the widely recommended version above R80.40 now, but R80.40 is further along with jumbo fixes.

No - this is a misunderstanding, see Jumbo Hotfix Takes Compatibility :

80.40 JHF Take 125 is aligned to R81 JHF Take 42 except the fix for PRJ-27977

True - Take 125 ist the GA from 04 October 2021. And R81 GA is Take 44 - i just would not say that R80.40 is much further than R81 8)

If you compare the list of fixes, there's quite a difference 🙂 Everything that was in R80.40 ongoing take 126 (quite a list) from October 13th and higher is still in the 'Upcoming fixes' list for R81 jumbo. I'm waiting for a new R81 jumbo (even ongoing is fine) to have fix parity - I have some relevant fixes applicable from R80.40 T126 - so I can finally upgrade our gateways. So R81 is 2 months behind basically.
