Migrating GWs usually is not an issue: You note the configuration and fresh install the new GW, everything else will be in the management server ! Migrating the SMS is the big(ger) issue - You have to evaluate if starting from scratch is less time consuming ! Configurations made prior to v. 75 mostly do not make much sense in R81, i fear...

Hi All,

What will be the best way to migrate GW prior to ver75 to latest version? Few GW are remote. Do we have any tool which can do the migration without any issues?

Really appreciate your advice

Depending on the vintage of the hardware in question, newer versions may not be supported.
It’s important to know precisely what the hardware is and depending on target version, it may require replacement as part of this exercise.
Management is the more complicated upgrade and, depending on where that’s at, you may just opt for rebuilding from scratch as that will also involve multiple upgrades that possibly include replacing hardware.

The more details you can provide about current and target state, the more precise advice we can provide.
You may also want to involve your local Check Point SE.
