R82.10 smartconsole: Evaluation License Expired

I have a trouble as the screenshot, when I tried login R82.10 SMS by smartconsole, but I can access SMS by ssh / web(https).
First, I doubt my PC or SMS(vmware) have issue. However, I used vmware to create 2 new VMs, one is win11 and install R82.10 smartconsole, another is R82.10 SMS it can access to the Internet.
I got the same error result as screenshot.

I feel amazing, I have use same iso file for R82.10. That is working on Feb 2026 for me. But I can not use it suddently!

I think smartconsole is fine, because used demo mode it is working.

what is the output of the command cplic print? (execute it on the management in a SSH shell)

Hi,

You have a 15 day trial period when installing a Check Point product without a valid license or eval license.
Since you installed it in Februari 2026, most likely your trial period has expired.

Can you check with cplic print?

What @Martijn said is 100% true. I would confirm with cplic print -x command, but most likely, your trial period of 15 days had expired, hence that message.

Initial installations have a 15-day Plug n Play license.
After that, you need to generate evaluation licenses: https://community.checkpoint.com/t5/General-Topics/How-to-Request-an-Evaluation-License-for-Security-Gateways-and/m-p/40391#M8499

Excuse me maybe my statement is not exact.
On Feb 2026, that mean the iso file is fine.
In fact, I create a new VM for R82.10 SMS yesterday, I got the same error, my install setting and environment all are same.
And it is output of cplic print:

Hi,

Did you follow the First Time Wizard? From the looks of the hostname you did not.

Connect to https://192.168.1.1 first and choose a SmartCenter as the product.

Yes I had follow the first time wizard. I know that can choose install type for SG / management or both. I tried install SMS only, or install both, their results are same error.
Hostname is random string, because it is lab, I have not rename it. And random string by default, is common situation for install checkpoint gaia OS.

Thank your suggest, I understand apply new eval license should resolve it.
But my purpose is not apply any license.
I want to understand why occured? what happened? Is it default by R82?

Hi,

It's possible that the plug-and-play 15 day license is impacted by the same root issue described in https://support.checkpoint.com/results/sk/sk184766

Please try to install the HF from the SK and see if it solves the issue.

GREAT! It sk184766(install hotfix) resolved my trouble, it is bug, not license.
