      <title>Random disconnections from SmartConsole</title>

      <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;When I open the SmartConsole I can use it for say 5 minutes and then it disconnects with the following error&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;IMG alt="r80sc.jpg" class="image-1 jive-image" src="https://community.checkpoint.com/legacyfs/online/checkpoint/51370_r80sc.jpg" style="height: auto;" /&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Meanwhile I have ping with the management server and all services in it looks ok.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Where can I start to troubleshoot this issue?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Thanks!&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;Assuming the network path between your SmartConsole system and the R80 SMS is stable and unimpeded, in pre-R80 releases one would look for a restart of the SMS's fwm process which services the GUI network connections.&amp;nbsp; While fwm still exists in the R80 Mgmt release, it seems to only be servicing certain older GUI clients such as SmartUpdate.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;In R80 Mgmt it appears that the main SmartConsole connections are being serviced by a java process listening on port 19009.&amp;nbsp; To see if this process has undergone a restart, run "cpwd_admin list" and look at the CPM (Check Point Management) and FWM lines of the output:&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;TABLE&gt;&lt;TBODY&gt;&lt;TR&gt;&lt;TD&gt;CPM&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; &lt;/TD&gt;&lt;TD&gt;356&lt;/TD&gt;&lt;TD&gt;E &lt;/TD&gt;&lt;TD&gt;2&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; &lt;/TD&gt;&lt;TD&gt;[07:47:15] 15/3/2016&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; N&lt;/TD&gt;&lt;TD&gt;/opt/CPsuite-R80/fw1/scripts/cpm.sh -s&lt;/TD&gt;&lt;/TR&gt;&lt;TR&gt;&lt;TD&gt;FWM&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; &lt;/TD&gt;&lt;TD&gt;361&lt;/TD&gt;&lt;TD&gt;E &lt;/TD&gt;&lt;TD&gt;2&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; &lt;/TD&gt;&lt;TD&gt;[07:47:15] 15/3/2016&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; N&lt;/TD&gt;&lt;TD&gt;fwm&lt;/TD&gt;&lt;/TR&gt;&lt;/TBODY&gt;&lt;/TABLE&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Does the start time for these processes closely match all the other monitored processes?&amp;nbsp; Or does it look like one or both of these processes got restarted by cpwd?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;--&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt; My book "Max Power: Check Point Firewall Performance Optimization" &lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt; now available via &lt;A href="http://maxpowerfirewalls.com/" target="_blank"&gt;http://maxpowerfirewalls.com&lt;/A&gt;.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>
