In Pre-R80 days when a Check Point object was created, and sometimes incorrectly as a gateway instead of a host, you were presented with the option of "Convert to Host" when you right clicked on the object. In R80 this option is no longer present and I'm seeing some weirdness on a manager - does this function still exist? If not does anyone know the method to change it from a gateway to a host? I tried via dbedit by modifying the "type" but it won't allow me to modify it - get error that "host" is not a valid option.

The problem is the upgrade verifier does not catch this and it causes problems with manager, especially with HA.

--Juan

I have the same issue - and found it in GUIDBedit:

First, look at Object Name and Class Name: Instead of host_ckp (like in fresh SMS sms2), SMS7520 shows gateway_ckp.

Inside the object, same is true of Field type - value is gateway instead of host. But the Default Value is also the same and we can not change this objects type, let alone the class...

Hi,

Anyone has a solution for this one?

We have a MDM environment on R80.30, but in the MDS SmartConsole all Domain Servers are R80. When we look in SmartConsole on the Domain Server it is R80.30, but the hardware is 'Other' and not 'Smart-1'.

Checking with GUIDBEdit we can see all Domain Servers are of the type gateway (gateway_ckp) and not a host (host_ckp).

Did any of you successfully convert a SmartCenter/Domain Server for gateway to host in R80.30? If so, what is the correct procedure?

Regards, Martijn
