AWS Cluster in-place upgrade

Hi all.

Trying an in-place upgrade of an R81.20 AWS cluster to R82, which according to sk177714 is possible but when importing the relevant upgrade package, I'm getting the error in this screenshot:

The gateways were deployed using the CFT provided by Check Point and are running on c4.large (this is only a lab environment).

Any ideas what the issue might be?

Because of the partitions issue you won't be able to do in-place upgrade.

You will have to go with Advanced Upgrade, basically deploy a new R82 Cluster and move all routes, policies etc. to it.

Hi.

Thanks for the response, but I don't understand why this is necessary. The cluster was deployed using the approved Cloud Formation Template, and according to the referenced SK article the in-place upgrade is supported using the package provided. Does this mean that the article is incorrect? I have no control over how the partitions are created. Even the error says it is supported on AWS.

No. It's a fresh deployment. I'm just testing the process in my lab at this stage.

I can’t tell why exactly it’s like that from a fresh install but the only option with this error is a new deployment.

Can you please share the outputs of:
fdisk -l
parted -l
df -h
lvs

pvs

from the machine?
