Hello everyone!
Hope you're feeling well

I am trying to create a lab environment on a GNS3 server version 2.2.45 for VMware ESXi Server.
Within the lab, I want to deploy a couple of switches, a couple of routers, and two Quantum Spark firewalls in HA cluster mode.
My switches would be layer 3 to process internal BGP, and the routers will have external BGP and I will put the cluster on the middle to inspect the traffic.

To emulate the Quantum Spark firewalls, I am using an .img image and I also tried the .qcow2 image that is available for download in the following article: https://support.checkpoint.com/results/sk/sk168204

I am trying to launch the firewall image (I tried with .img and .qcow2) from a QEMU VM template on the GNS3 Server, but when I turn on the VM and enter the serial console on the appliance, the bootable image does not work and the system does not start. I have some errors

The documentation says that this image works for ESXI and KVM, but my question is:

Is it possible to run this image on a QEMU VM from GNS3 Server?

Or is it possible that the errors I get when running this image on this VM nested in GNS3 Server are because these images are not designed to run in these environments?

If it is not possible to launch these images on GNS3 Server, is there any other way to simulate this lab environment?

(two Cisco LAN switches >> two Quantum Spark Firewalls >> two L2 switches >> two Cisco routers)

I hope you can help me.
Greetings to all!!!

Unfortunately those images are not current or representative of the newer releases.

Supported ended for that version/product in 2024.

Hello @Chris_Atkinson , thank you very much for your comments.

I know that this release has been out of support since 2024, in fact this would not be for something productive, just to do a couple of tests.

Do you know if these images can be run in GNS3 or if they are not compatible?

I want to exhaust all alternatives to know if I should continue with this lab or start exploring other options for the lab

Greetings!!

GNS3 is not a documented scenario.

In general we only support what is documented by the HCL though these images are a special case.
