Oh....... it's quite common for Checkmates to expand disk for whatever reason most likely logs

But somehow it breaks the chance for future in-place upgrade even followed official SK...

I have looked into many discussion post here but loooooooks like everyone ended up with rebuilding the whole machine

I'm trying to upgrade my Azure Cloudguard to R81.20 from R81.10 by the way

Regards,

Bill.

Hi all,

I followed exactly both sk169153 - How to add a new hard disk to Gaia running on Azure, AWS or GCP and sk156552 - How to increase the disk size of a CloudGuard VM for Azure, AWS, GCP, and OCI to expand the disk for upgrading Cloudguard from R81.10 to R81.20 but still got "Your partitions are not in Check Point standard format" error when doing Upgrade Verify.

Anyone lucky enough?

Regards,

Bill.

Those processes specifically cause that error. To upgrade in-place, you must not expand an existing system. They simply allow you to defer rebuilding the VM from when you need more storage to when you want to upgrade.

Note not all of the errors / scenarios described by sk180769 are avoidable by admin choice / configuration.

I know there is a document one of my colleagues put together for a customer she did this for. Let me see if I can find it.
