Every community has a set of guidelines, a "rules of the road" if you will. CheckMates is no exception.


Our goal with the CheckMates community is to serve Check Point customers and partners thru:

  • Education
  • Communication
  • Building Trust
  • Collaborating and Developing

We invite everyone to participate and make your mark here, but we do have a few guidelines we expect everyone to follow. For everyone’s sake, we are committed to enforcing these guidelines. 


Be Yourself

People will respect you more, engage with you more often, and treat you like a real person if you use your actual identity here. Have the courage to be you — instead of “Riot Grrrl 72″. While not mandatory, we think you’ll have a much better online experience when you stand behind your actual words.


Win Friends and Influence People

Get noticed! CheckMates is designed for discovery, direct involvement, and personal recognition. Connect with people around your mutual interests. Talk about what you care about — your passions — in a way that reflects who you are.


Tell It Like It Is

We’re into transparency, honesty, and truth. We certainly encourage you to share your thoughts (good or bad), but expect everyone to do so in a respectful, non-antagonistic manner. 


Don’t misrepresent yourself or lie about your identity, affiliations, or age. This community is based on the contributions of real people who put their reputations on the line. Be one of them. Ask tough questions and reward the candor of others.


Have (Good, Clean) Fun!

We’re cheerleaders for any activity that encourages the spirit of fun, so long as it doesn’t hurt other people. Please keep it professional, no blonde jokes or any words or images that come at the expense of others. Be sensitive to other users around you, and, in general, don’t post sexual or violent material. Those things kill conversations, just like in real life.


Be Constructive

Professional critics have something to teach us: they foster healthy conversation and debate without ever attacking people personally. Think about that when responding to others, and ask yourself the question: Would you say it to their face?


Think Globally

While the primary language of this community is English, the community is global in nature. Keep this in mind as you are communicating with others or others are communicating with you.


Share the Wealth

Make the community a richer place by sharing your experience and insight. You may have the perfect answer to someone else’s burning question. This is the substance of CheckMates: It’s how you give back to the community.


No Sell Zone

It’s okay to talk up the products or services you love (or sell), but only if it’s both relevant to the conversation and is largely technical in nature. If you are here to plant a ton of links to your website without doing much else, your posts will be removed by a moderator and you will be banned.


Likewise, there are a number of Check Point partners in the CheckMates community. While partners are encouraged to contribute to CheckMates, it should done in a partner neutral fashion.


Don’t Publish Copyrighted Materials

Make sure you have the right to publish any content you post to CheckMates, and don’t violate the privacy of others. Publishing the contents of articles in SecureKnowledge is not allowed, but links to said articles are fine.


Be Fruitful, But Don’t Multiply

Don’t create multiple accounts to violate these guidelines, game the system, or harass and deceive other users.


Keep It Friendly

The guidelines herein are designed to foster productive, friendly conversations. We may ask you privately to revise posts or other content you have authored (including user avatars) that violate the spirit of any of the guidelines herein.


Moderation Policy

While we encourage free-wheeling conversations on CheckMates, posts from newly joined members are subject to being moderated as an anti-spam measure. Messages may also be moderated that trigger automated anti-spam filters. Moderated messages are generally approved within a few hours, but may take up to 24 hours.


We have a zero tolerance policy on spam. Accounts that attempt to post spam will be banned and have their posts removed.


We reserve the right to remove or edit posts that violate the spirit of any of the guidelines herein. We may also move posts to a different space, edit the subject of a post to improve clarity, remove personally identifiable information from posts (e.g. email address or phone numbers), and/or links to specific websites.
